Welcoming nine new CASA volunteer advocates

We are thrilled to welcome nine new Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteers who have officially been sworn in and are ready to begin their advocacy work on behalf of children in foster care across Lake County. Each of these dedicated individuals has completed the 30 hour pre-service training and made a powerful commitment: to stand by a child during one of the most challenging times in their life.

CASA volunteers play a unique and vital role in the child welfare system. They get to know the child, gather information, collaborate with professionals involved in the case, and provide judges with recommendations that keep the child’s best interests at the center of every decision. Their advocacy ensures that each child is seen, heard, and supported throughout their journey in foster care.

Before taking their oath, our new advocates completed a 30 hour training program covering the foster care system, trauma-informed care, cultural humility, educational advocacy, court reporting, and more. Their dedication reflects an extraordinary gift of time, compassion, and courage—qualities that make a lasting difference for the children we serve.

Each new CASA volunteer will be matched with a child or sibling group, stepping into a steady and supportive role that can influence the trajectory of that child’s life. Volunteers provide stability to a child experiencing uncertainty, giving them hope, encouragement, and someone they can count on.

We extend our warmest congratulations and deepest gratitude to these nine remarkable individuals. The commitment they’ve made strengthens our community and expands CASA Lake County’s ability to reach more children in need of advocacy, consistency, and care.
